Send feedback

NevTan Mail runs in your browser, so the accessibility settings you already use — zoom, your operating system's text size, your screen reader — work here as they do on any other site. These are the options inside the app itself.

Make mail easier to read

  • Row spacing. Open Settings (gear) and choose Comfortable for more space between messages, or Compact to fit more on screen. Comfortable is easier to track by eye.
  • Zoom. Browser zoom works throughout — Ctrl and + or - (Cmd on a Mac). The layout reflows rather than clipping, so text stays on screen as it grows.
  • Themes. Under Theme you can change the background behind the app. This is decoration rather than an accessibility setting — the plainest option is Default, and a photo background can make the surrounding chrome harder to read.

Using the keyboard

You can move through NevTan Mail with Tab and activate what's focused with Enter or Space, as in any web page. There are also shortcuts for writing a message — see Keyboard shortcuts.

Shortcuts cover composing, not the whole mailbox

The shortcuts available today act inside the compose window — sending, saving a draft, revealing Cc and Bcc. There aren't yet single-key shortcuts for moving through the message list the way some other mail apps offer, so navigating the inbox means Tab and the arrow keys.

Screen readers

Buttons and controls carry text labels for screen readers, images in these articles have descriptions, and headings are marked up as headings so you can jump between them. Mail you receive is as accessible as the sender made it — a message sent as one large image can't be read aloud, whoever receives it.

If something isn't announced properly, tell us which screen reader and browser you're using and what you were trying to do. That detail is what makes a fix possible, and reports like it are how this list gets shorter.

What isn't supported yet

Rather than have you hunt for settings that don't exist, here's what we don't offer today:

  • A dark mode. Themes change the background behind the app, but messages are still read on a light surface. If you need dark, your browser or operating system's own setting is the better route for now.
  • A high-contrast mode. There's no separate high-contrast theme. Your operating system's contrast settings still apply.
  • Full keyboard navigation of the mailbox. See above.
  • A published conformance report. We haven't published a VPAT or a formal WCAG assessment.

If one of these is blocking you from using NevTan Mail, we'd genuinely like to know — it helps us decide what to build next.
