Attachments & previews
You can look inside most attachments without downloading them first. Open a message, choose the preview control on an attachment, and it opens in a viewer over your mail.
Previewing an attachment
Each attachment on a message has a Preview control. Files NevTan Mail can't display show the control greyed out as Preview unavailable — download those to open them in their own app.
Previews are remembered
Once a file has been previewed, NevTan Mail keeps it ready for the rest of your session, so reopening the same attachment is quick rather than fetching it again.
What can be previewed

Preview controls
The viewer's header has controls for reading a file comfortably:
- Maximize / Restore — expand the viewer to fill the screen when a document is too small to read, then shrink it back.
- Open in new tab — pop the file out into its own browser tab, so you can keep it open beside your mail.
- Download — save the file to your computer.
On a phone, the viewer always opens full screen.
Downloading
Every attachment can be downloaded from its Download control, whether or not it can be previewed. Files shared from NevTan Drive instead open in Drive — see NevTan Drive & large attachments.
